Fasching Parade

Similar to the Mardi Gras parade in the states Fasching is a time to celebrate and have one last hurrah before Lent. Unlike Mardi Gras or Carnival in the Caribbean, you won't get flashed and instead of beads candy is thrown from the float.  Ivy had a party at her school and Roman wanted to stay home.  The world of Minecraft has him captivated at the moment.  Addy and Avery had a blast; however, who wouldn't be happy with a sack full of candy.  Helau from Mainz!

Oh, a new experience! Traudel (also on the linkylist of All Seasons) called it Rosen Montag. Looks like your kids enjoyed it:)
And this is pretty close to Valentines Day and the Chinese New Year! Knowing you, at some point you'll probably introduce your adopted ones to the latter?
Thank you for the possible explanation for my blurry snow pic and for sharing the Fasching parade with All Seasons! As I'm writing this, we are having hail pelting the roof.
Hope you'll get some form of chocolate on Valentine's:):) Have a great week.
looks like this event is a huge overload of colour, sights and sound. But fun too! Have a fabulous week and thank you for visiting my blog last week.

Some weird and wonderful exhibits there Kedlleyn. The floats are rather unusual too! I enjoyed your photos.

So colorful and funny! But Karneval is always a little bit a political demonstration too, here in Germany.
Get well soon, please, here's your peppermint tea. I also have a thyme tea...

I didn't mind the 'photo overload' one bit! I felt like I was there! I don't think I have ever seen a parade with such diversity of costumes - and so many with their faces painted to match! Amazing!

You got a lot of colorful photos, nicely done. People got so wild when we had Fasching here that they outlawed it, lol. I miss it but then again I was much younger then. I wish we had parades like this, guess we'll have to wait till St. Pat's.
